Resolved Question: Where would Norman Rockwell be happy now?

I'm OLD. And I'm stuck in the 1940s and 50s --- even though I know those days are long gone. Since I travel a lot (but not nearly as much as I did in the past), I know that there are still places in America which have the "feel" of those days. The places that come to my mind from my past experiences are: Fillmore, CA; Rockford, IL; and Spokane, WA, and maybe Portland OR. I'd like the climate to have four distinct seasons, and that the town or city be surrounded by woodland or farmland, or both. Which places would you nominate? One quirk that I do have, though, is that it should have a nice Episcopal church with traditional BOCP worship (Episcopalians will know what "BOCP" means). I know I'm going to get plenty of the "Go back to Africa" and "Go to Sodom-by-the-Sea (San Francisco)" responses, and that's OK; I can ignore them. Where do you suggest I check out? Why? NOTE: For some reason, I can't get this question to post to the category I want, so if it finally appears in a weird, inappropriate category, I'm sorry.... Read More »
